She thinks that metabolism is all about hormone balance: you can make your metabolism work for you, or - against you!
Here are Jillian Michaels' metabolism tips:
1. You need to remove all the "bad foods". High fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, trans fats... cut off all processed food!
2. Restore "good foods". Put back in your body the food that communicate with your fat burning genes. Get lots of vitamin C - it's awesome for weight loss, because it inhibits production of stress hormone cortisol. Keep your sodium low.
3. Make sure you're getting enough sleep. Because when you don't, your body is releasing stress hormones and not enough leptin, making you hungry all the time!
4. Avoid carbs before bed. You don't want to make your body release insulin which inhibits release of human growth hormone!
